E.W. Key - Recording An Album After Forty
|
I have always dreamed of being a recording artist. As a kid in high school I practiced my drums daily and honed my lyric writing skills and focused entirely on the prospect of de-throning Mick Jagger one day. Well obviously that never happened. Life happened. I refused to put all my eggs into that one basket; I had to have a plan B. I went on to college and then into the real world at a neck breaking speed. When I finally took the time to reaccess my current situation, I realized I had a wife and two kids and was running my own business. I am 44 years old! Where the hell did twenty years go?
After careful conderation of the above question, I conceded that it would talk the rest of my life to answer and I had best get off my ass and record the songs I have written over the past 25 years. This is my current plight. I will document this journey of recording an album in mid-life in hopes I can inspire others to do the same. Dreams are fulfilments of wishes. Make a wish! --Eric |
